With more than 1,200 attendees and 150 exhibitors, the event spanned four days and g enerated plenty of business development opportunities for attendees. NRC represents more than 350 railroad c onstruction and maintenance contractors and suppliers, and has been conducting its annual conference since 1978. The highlights of the business presenta- tions included capital investment plans for Class 1 railroads, short line railroad holding companies, and major rail transit agencies, covering most of the bases for a 2015 outlook for contractors. Transportation analyst Tony Hatch of ABH Consulting also presented his annual analysis of the year ahead for railroads and their investment prospects, said NRC Presi- dent Chuck Baker. Hatch predicted another stellar year for rail investment, and a contin- uation of the "virtuous cycle" of investment, service quality, and market share gains. "We were again very pleased with this year's conference," Baker said. "Great pre- sentations, a huge crowd, a nice venue, and even cooperative weather all contributed to NRC members getting lots of business done and getting 2015 off to a strong start." "We remain very proud of our connection with NRC," said RTA Executive Director Jim Gauntt. "We are especially gratified that so many of our members come to this impor- tant conference every year to showcase their products and services as well." N R C C O N F E R E N C E RTA was well represented at the NRC Conference and Exhibition in Fort Lauderdale. RTA not only had its own booth to promote the wood tie and the work of the association, but many of the association's members were also part of the exhibition. The following pictures illustrate the importance of RTA member con- nections within the railroad-contracting universe. ➤ More Photos Follow RTA Member Exhibitors Herzog Railroad Services Inc.
