Just as important for the Mississippi-based company is build- ing relationships with customers. "Taylor's trucks are built by the watchwords that started this company by W. A. Taylor, Sr., and those watchwords are faith, vision and work," said Don M. Woodruff, the com- pany's director of sales. "We build not only trucks, we also build relationships. Many of those relationships go back for three and even four generations." 7D\ORU0DFKLQH:RUNV¿UVWEHJDQJHQHUD- WLRQVDJRLQ$VDVPDOOIDPLO\RZQHG automotive and repair business, one of the ¿UVWSURGXFWVFUHDWHGE\WKHFRPSDQ\ZDVD timber skidder, which was later developed into a mobile skidder and loader known as the "Logger's Dream." Initial success soon grew into numer- ous other products, including the "Pasture Dream," the "Pulpwood Dream" and the "Yardster" forklift trucks. Today, under the leadership of the third generation of the Taylor family, the com- pany produces more than 85 models of "Big Red" lift trucks, which are considered by many to be the most dependable, most dura- ble and lowest total cost lift trucks available, Woodruff said. "We have built our reputa- tion and success by listening to the needs of our customers and doing everything within our capability and means to make the best equipment in the marketplace today," said Woodruff. "This encompasses not only new equipment but also used equipment, rental and lease equipment." In addition to offering the best products possible, the company also strives to pro- vide world-class customer support after the sale. To do so, Taylor Machine Works offers Sudden Service Inc., its aftermarket support company, which provides service and sup- port for all of the company's products. "Our products bring to the customer a service and support company that is second to none," Woodruff said. "And our products are backed with service and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week." The company's commitment to quality and its customers propel Taylor Machine Works to continue adding to its offerings. This year, the company introduced an entirely new line of lift trucks called the X Series. "The future looks bright as we continue to build the trucks that our customers need," said Woodruff. "The X Series incorporates new environmentally friendly and fuel HI¿FLHQWHQJLQHVFRXSOHGZLWKDSSURSULDWH WHFKQRORJ\WKDWEULQJVYDOXHDQGEHQH¿WV to our customers. While customers' needs change and generations come and go, the company's dedication to providing quality products will never change. "Taylor Machine Works has people in our production facility whose fathers, grandfathers and even great grandfathers worked to make our product the best," Woodruff said.
